THAT TIME OF THE YEAR – A SHORT STORY

It was about six years back, he had arrived from a foreign trip on an official assignment. Few minutes after landing at the airport and being filled with joy and enthusiasm to reunite with his family and share the beautiful gifts he bought for them, “of a truth God was gracious”, he soliloquized. He had barely left the airport premises, when yet another miracle happened. Mr. Johnson opened his text messaging app, and alas, he couldn’t believe what he saw, he shook his head, reached out for his glasses wiped them clean again, “no, no no… this can’t be true, haba just like that, God is good!” he said to himself after reading the message a few times, amused and smiling to himself. The cab man had noticed and looked back through his front mirror. “Mr. driver pay attention! look at the road”-he shot back quickly and went back to his laughter. 1.1 Million candidates may Not Gain Admission – JAMB.

Thiw is an expected and yet unfortuante development as regards the fate of many applicants who participated in the just concluded unified tertiary matricualtion examination for 2016.

JAMB 2016 UPDATE: CANDIDATES STATISTICS FROM DIFFERENT STATES

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Jibu Ojerinde, in a statement issued on Friday disclosed the enrollment statistics of candidates from different states in the country.

According to the statement, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Zamfara and Yobe states have the lowest number of candidates
enrollment with figures at 5,069, 7,254 and 12,079, respectively.

Imo, Osun and Oyo states are said to have the highest number of applications with the figures, 102,727, 83,060 and 81,06, respectively.

The JAMB boss also revealed that the number of applicants this year increased by One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Seventy-three (113,673) applicants when compared with last year’s figure.

Due to complaints of some many prospective applicants who were unable to apply for the examinations since the board had closed the registration portal earlier than expected, and pleas came through as some lamented that the admissions board shouldn’t deny them a chance of tertiary education. Riot In LASU:SUG leads Protest.

Reports came in that the Student union Government of the Lagos State University, protested yesterday and blocked promi et route around the school campus.

This was as a result of the harrasmemt and alleged illegal fees imposed by miscreants  drivers of the school campus shuttle.
