The FDI World Dental Federation, worlds leading organization representing the Dental discipline set March 20th to be annual world oral day dedicated to raising global awareness about oral health and otal hygiene.
The theme of this years event is “Live Mouth Smart”
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Committee on Dental Health has concluded plans to offer free dental screening and treatment to more than 36,000 people across the country.
The Chairman of the committee, Dr Clement Onwube, made this known at a news conference in Lafia on Friday.
He said that the gesture was part of activities to mark the 2017 World Oral Health Day, celebrated on March 20 every year.
Onwube said the national event would hold on March 20 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, where more than 1,000 people would access free dental services.
