CANCER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: NAAKIMS PARTNERS NAOMI OBOT FOUNDATION

Saturday 04th February was World Cancer Day.

World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008.–(Wiki) 

The National Akwa-Ibom Medical Students Association (NAAKIMS) World-Wide Body took this campaign to the streets of Uyo in a partnership with Naomi Obot Foundation .Contact KAMPUSAREABLOG

The campaign was at the Akpan Andem Market and Itam Park Uyo.
It involved talks by the Founder of ‘Naomi Obot Foundation‘–Ella Obot and NAAKIMS-world wide President Otuekong Phamous.

Volunteers carried colorful placards, one on one talks, dramatization to sensitize the public on the dangers of negligence of the disease.

Ella Obot a graduate of  Political Science,  lost Her mum to cancer. She shares her story with the rest of the world through her Foundation.
