The University of Calabar environment is set in motion, for yet another campaign season. The Student Union Government election is slated for April 29th.
The Calabar University Electoral Committee (CUECO) is in charge of the elections. Forms for interested aspirants into the Senate and Executive are obtainable at the Student affairs, before 20th of April 2016.
As Nigerian students keep striving for Academic Excellence in various Universities. The University of Maiduguri has announced that 174 graduates would bag first class degrees, though this over a period of five academic sessions in its combined convocation.it is no mere feat to get such in federal univerisities
The fall in the standard of graduates of graduates has been linked to several factors. Reliance on examination malpractice and related forms of misconduct has been the norm, and institution of higher learning are gearing up in the fight.
The recent edition of Universities ranking for Nigeria places University of Ibadan at the first place. The university of Lagos which was shut down on the 8th of April 2016, as a result of students protest. Has henceforth announced that this does not affect the school of foundation studies. As it is fully in session and assessment begins next week.

STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL OF FOUNDATION STUDIES ARE FULLY IN SESSION: NOT AFFECTED BY THE STUDENTS’ UNREST
Students of the School of Foundation Studies are hereby informed that lectures are going on at the various faculties and that the Second In course Assessment is still scheduled to hold from Monday, 18 – Thursday, April 22, 2016.
· It is compulsory for every student to bring along his/her Biometric Identity Card to the examination venue at the Distance Learning Institute.
· Students without their Biometric Identity Card will not be allowed into the Examination Halls
· Verification starts two hours before the examination.
· All the verified candidates must be seated in the Examination Halls 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
· No student will be verified 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination
· The examination time-table is pasted at all the faculties’ notice boards.
The University of Ilorin had earlier changed its grading system to à four point system as well as increasing the minimum pass mark from 40 percent to 45%. Concerns and worries have increased as returning students are now bothered if there grades would nownbe changed and those wit an ‘E’ (40-45) would now get a fail I’m such courses.

It was about six years back, he had arrived from a foreign trip on an official assignment. Few minutes after landing at the airport and being filled with joy and enthusiasm to reunite with his family and share the beautiful gifts he bought for them, “of a truth God was gracious”, he soliloquized. He had barely left the airport premises, when yet another miracle happened. Mr. Johnson opened his text messaging app, and alas, he couldn’t believe what he saw, he shook his head, reached out for his glasses wiped them clean again, “no, no no… this can’t be true, haba just like that, God is good!” he said to himself after reading the message a few times, amused and smiling to himself. The cab man had noticed and looked back through his front mirror. “Mr. driver pay attention! look at the road”-he shot back quickly and went back to his laughter.
